About:
Josh Silver has always been active. His love of exercise may be a result of being terrible at all sports when he was a child. Over the years, he's studied dance, rudimentary gymnastics, martial arts, Pilates, yoga TRX, HIIT, and currently attends classes at West LA Athletics which is a CrossFit gym. Over his career he's been an actor, worked on various circuses as a clown, ringmaster, concessionaire, and animal groom (the guy with the shovel). He went on to produce entertainment for corporate events in the 1980s. He's worked as a personal manager for actors for the past 35 years.
As Josh aged he noticed that his love of fitness training made an enormous difference in his health, well being and confidence. It helped him get through a number of medical issues. He also wanted to "give back" in some way. That led to his getting certified as a group fitness instructor from the American Council on Exercise, with a specialty in Senior Fitness. He then started volunteering at Wise and Healthy Aging, a non-profit organization that "advances the dignity and quality of life of older adults." He's been teaching a senior fitness class there weekly since May of 2022.
Teaching the class has been the impetus to go to the next step, sharing his love of fitness with everyone, particularly seniors. His goal is to encourage everyone to be active, no matter what the activity is.
